It is played with four bowls per player, and the game can be played individually or in teams. The rules of short mat bowls vary slightly depending on the governing body, but generally follow the same principles as outdoor lawn bowls.

Dunster short mat bowls club meets on a Monday evening from 7.30 to 9.00 in the main hall of the Tithe Barn.

We are a small friendly group of people anxious to increase our numbers as we have enough space and equipment to use two mats.

The bowls and table tennis groups were the first to use the barn following its renovation in 2006.

Despite only being a small group of people the bowls club has survived and continue to enjoy meeting and playing short mat bowls.

Sadly the table tennis did not continue, the barn still has a table and other equipment if anyone would like to restart the club. Table tennis was played in the meeting room at the same time as short mat bowls in the main hall.
